The Charango is a small Andean stringed instrument of the lute family, which probably originated in the Quechua and Aymara populations in the territory of the Altiplano in post-Colonial times, after European stringed instruments were introduced by the Spanish during colonialization. According to wikipedia the instrument is widespread throughout the Andean regions of Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, northern Chile and northwestern Argentina, where it is a popular musical instrument that exists in many variant forms. The Charangos we currently carry are handmade in Bolivia and are premium quality, handmade by Jamie Garcia Zapata and Ruben Garcia.

"As a finger picking classical and flamenco trained guitarist I have a great time strumming and picking this instrument I hope you will too. Each instrument is handpicked by me." Art Fernandez.
